The mixing operator operates the banbury (mixture) and mill, runs batch off, doses chemicals, and works in the testing lab. Performs all functions associated with final and master batch production.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior manufacturing experience including one year of operating machinery.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) information.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurement calculations.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good team player and possess the ability to work effectively with others.

Job Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Due to accuracy of processes, person must have high degree of attention to detail.
  • This position will cross train in all areas of Mixing.
  • Should be able to work with test equipment and able to read, interpret and understand test results.
  • Must be self-motivated and wiling to learn and take initiatives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects up to 77 lbs.
  • Use fingers, hands, arms, and legs to lift, reach, push and pull. Will stand, walk, stoop, and kneel.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heat, and loud noise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Operates machines that require some set up and decision making.
  • Performs routine setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
  • Performs operations with specific detailed instructions and directions.
  • May be called upon to train new associates in machine operation.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that product specifications are adhered to as related to product quality and packaging requirements.
  • Will occasionally operate a forklift for material loading and unloading.
  • Will be required to perform all other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule and willing to work either 121/2 hours day or night shift to support production.
